Project Scope: Downer was engaged in 1998 for life of mine to provide a range of mining services to Sunrise Dam Gold Mine (SDGM).
Services provided: Under the SDGM Open Pit Mining Alliance formed in July 2005, Downer provides grade control, drill and blast, and load and haul services at Sunrise Dam. It has a current workforce of 182 employees, comprising both Downer employees and subcontractors. Since SDGM's inception in 1998, AngloGold Ashanti and Downer have been working in partnership with local Aboriginal mining contractor, Carey Mining.
