Hawkins to Deliver the New Domestic Jet Terminal at Auckland Airport.
Our Hawkins team has been awarded a significant contract to deliver the new Domestic Jet Terminal at Auckland Airport.
This project marks a key milestone in Auckland Airport’s ambitious upgrade and will see the domestic terminal integrated with the international terminal into a seamless, world-class facility. With a contract valued at approximately NZ$800 million, this is one of New Zealand's largest infrastructure undertakings and is significant, not just for Hawkins, but for T&I and Downer overall.
Hawkins' involvement in this transformative project builds on a nearly 40-year partnership with Auckland Airport. We’ve already been working closely with the airport since February 2022, contributing to the project’s early contractor involvement phase and delivering enabling works on-site.
Work on the Domestic Jet Terminal commenced in late 2024, with the project scheduled for completion in 2029.
The project will be delivered under a collaborative contract model, with major components including the construction of a new Headhouse, a 240-metre gate pier, and extensive landside civil works.
Over the five-year program, Hawkins will manage the trade packages and engage subcontractors through an open-book tender process.
This contract strengthens our position as a leader in delivering complex infrastructure projects across New Zealand.
