Downer acquires Envista

Downer announced today that it had acquired Envista.

Envista provides strategy, architecture and delivery services in complex and sensitive environments. The acquisition enhances Downer’s services to customers in the Defence and National Security sectors.

Established in 2005, Envista employs more than 100 security-cleared people, including those with subject matter expertise in information and communication technology (ICT), cyber security and specialised Defence fields. Envista has significant experience managing large and complex ICT programs incorporating security sensitive capabilities.

Downer Chief Executive Officer Mining, Energy and Industrial Services, Brendan Petersen, said the acquisition provides a significant opportunity for the two companies to combine skills and experience in the Defence sector.

“The acquisition complements our existing Defence capabilities and our recent appointment as a Major Services Provider to the Department of Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group.

The Envista brand will be retained and the management and operation of the business will remain in place.
