IPWEAQ Innovation in Water Award

Downer’s Mareeba Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade project has been announced as the winner of the Innovation in Water Award at this year’s Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia Queensland (IPWEAQ) Excellence Awards in Townsville recently.
In accepting the award, Mareeba Shire Council Project Manager Glenda Kirk praised the performance of the plant and the strong working relationship developed with Downer.
The Mareeba Wastewater Treatment Plant exceeds the requirements of the environmental licence and has been designed and built by Downer to support current and future growth for the Mareeba community.
As the winner of this state award, the project is now in the running for a National IPWEA award.
