Downer, our clients and delivery partners received significant recognition at the 2023 New Zealand Airports Hui awards held in Christchurch, with two projects receiving Project of the Year in their respective categories
Small Airport Category Winner: Chatham Islands Airport Ltd
In the small airport category, Downer, in partnership with Chatham Islands Airport Ltd and Beca, secured the 'Project of the Year' award.
This accolade was granted in recognition of the "Longer and Stronger Runway Works" project. This project involved extending the runway and taxiways, a significant step towards ensuring future growth and resilience for the Chatham Islands.
Medium Airport Category Winner: Invercargill Airport
In the medium airport category, Downer's partnership with Invercargill Airport earned the 'Project of the Year' award for the successful nighttime resurfacing work on the runway. Read more here.
