Victorian Road Services wins two AAPA awards

Our Victorian Road Services team has been recognised by industry and its peers with two Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) State Awards.

These were handed out at the 2017 AAPA Victorian Gala Dinner & Industry Awards held recently.

Jeremy Hochman, Senior Project Engineer – Airports and Specialised Pavements, was recognised with the AAPA Emerging Leader Award.

“Well done to Jeremy Hochman on his well-deserved industry recognition. This award is a reflection of Jeremy’s commitment to Downer, and his tenacity and ability to deliver complex projects with high quality tolerances,” said Mark Taylor, General Manager – Airports and Specialised Pavements.

The Road Services team also won the Innovation Award for eliminating diesel from cold mix asphalt.

“A fantastic effort by the Research and Development team, and the wider business for swiftly identifying the safety risks, and collaboratively engineering and adopting the new designs. It’s great to be recognised for our progressive mindset to safety and performance improvements in this space,” said Jerry Tan, National Manager – Research and Development.
