Highly commended at the Diversity Works New Zealand awards

Medium - large organization highly commended

We are proud to receive highly commended in the medium - large organization leadership division at the Diversity Works New Zealand awards this year.

We were finalists is the leadership division by concentrating on our inclusion and equitable opportunities for Māori as tangata whenua and how our leaders are creating a culture where difference is communicated, celebrated and included.

We employs 11,000 people providing services across several sectors including transportation, telecommunications, facilities management, hospitality, laundries, water, open spaces and energy.

After recognising challenges within our workforce, including increasing and valuing diversity, attracting employees in a competitive workplace, and a lack of diversity at leadership level, Downer developed a suite of integrated initiatives to address them.
