ASEAN partners come together at InnoTrans
26/09/2024
Downer and Hartasuma, both leading rail and transit system providers in their respective countries, came together at InnoTrans 2024 to sign a Strategic Association Agreement.
The agreement brings the companies together to seek opportunities for decarbonisation service offerings, engineering innovations and digital solutions, as well as share learnings from Australia to increase female participation in rail in Malaysia.
By coming together at InnoTrans, the agreement signifies on a global stage the importance of ASEAN companies working together to support the global rail industry and the commitment made to supporting the southeast Asia region in relation to rollingstock.
Stephen Kakavas, Chief Operating Officer for Downer Rail & Transit Systems said, “Today marks an important milestone for Downer and I am proud that the leading rail and transit systems providers across Australia and Malaysia have come together at InnoTrans to align on the capabilities of our organisations and what we can jointly offer the global rail industry.
“I look forward to working closely with Hartasuma to deliver for our customers.”
The agreement was signed alongside key representatives from both the Malaysian Government and Australian rail industry.
