The contracts include:
Since 2018, Downer has delivered general maintenance services to BHP’s Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) operations. Under the contract, a skilled workforce of up to 180 people provide electrical, mechanical, HVAC, minor civil and rope access services at Port Hedland and mine operations, working collaboratively with the BHP maintenance team to plan and execute the services.
We provide maintenance and shutdown services for electrical and mechanical services across the smelter, refinery and mines assets for Nickel West, with major operations out of Kwinana, where we have a dedicated service delivery hub.
Downer delivers multi-discipline services to WesCef at their suite of facilities across Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
In our partnership with WesCef, a full-time team of mechanical, hot works, scaffold and rope access, insulation, and painting trades are embedded on site, working closely with our client on scheduled maintenance, shutdowns, and sustaining capital works.
“We’re very proud of our long-term, collaborative relationships with BHP and WesCef, and these extensions demonstrate the strength of our partnership with key customers,” said Richard Duffy, General Manager – Industrial & Energy, West.
“We’ve operated in Western Australia for over 50 years, delivering mechanical, electrical, and access services for a wide range of industrial customers, and we’re pleased to continue this track record of providing specialist services.”
“We have also recently added services to support fabrication and machining capability across WA’s southwest, opening a new Kwinana services delivery hub and investing in our Kalgoorlie workshop with new CNC and tooling. This will see us continue to deliver high-quality support in the region for years to come.”
