Downer World Club Challenge

We are the naming rights sponsor for the 2018 Downer World Club Challenge.

It has been announced today that Downer is the naming rights sponsor for the Downer World Club Challenge, which will see NRL Premiers Melbourne Storm host English Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos at AAMI Park, Melbourne, on Friday 16 February.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Grant Fenn, said Downer was thrilled to be supporting a game that would determine which rugby league team was the best in the world.

“Melbourne Storm and Leeds Rhinos have both enjoyed great success over a number of years and this will be an outstanding game of footy,” he said.

Our sponsorship will see the Downer brand across a range of ground signage (including in virtual form on television), on the goal post pads, jerseys and in media and social media communication relating to the event.

Billy Slater said: “We are excited to have Downer on board.”

The game will be shown live on Channel Nine and around the world, making the Downer World Club Challenge a truly international event.
