Yarra Valley Water Award
16/01/2017
The Downer Water & Pipelines Rehabilitation team have been awarded Yarra Valley Water’s Customer Service Award for demonstrating exceptional customer service.
This award was for the delivery of the recently completed Lucknow Street Water Main Renewal project.
The project involved replacing more than 600 meters of water mains that was originally laid in 1950s.
“What made the task challenging was the significant amount of old and protected trees along the project site, high levels of pedestrian traffic, and more than a hundred local properties impacted by the renewal including Yarra Valley Water’s head office that hosts more than 400 employees and senior executives,” said Majid Majeed, Manager - Water & Pipelines Rehabilitation.
“The field team, led by Justin Creed who was on his second project as foreman should be very proud of themselves for great customer service and excellent delivery of the renewal, resulting in a number of thank you letters and messages of congratulations for a job well done from both Yarra Valley Water and locals.
“For a project with significant impact to the local community, it was especially pleasing to see the project delivered with no complaints received,” added Majid.
“I personally would like to thank the team for what I think was a very neat, well organised and safe job - all very important given the volume of pedestrian traffic,” said Yvette Collins, Project Manager, Yarra Valley Water.
“To have no customer complaints is a real credit to Justin and the crew.”
Well done Justin, Rod Fisher, Brenton Freeman, Eugene Nannery, Phil Berry, Mel Reid and the temporary water supply team.
