In New Zealand, the effectiveness of the system has already been demonstrated at Queenstown Airport, where the data collected is providing a prime source to inform asset management decisions. And at Dunedin International Airport, outputs from a survey of the taxiway and aprons have informed design for the Taxiway Alpha and Bravo pavement rehabilitation works—with the same data also being used for the Runway 03/21 rehabilitation project.

The P2U utilises a combination of advanced technologies to produce high-resolution datasets:
- Point cloud data: Generated by a Z&F profiler that collects 1 million points across 200-line scans per second, achieving sub-centimetre precision.
- Photogrammetric data: Stitched together from six internal cameras capturing images every 0.5–10 meters, alongside two external cameras designed forpavement analysis (e.g., detecting flushing, cracking, roughness, and rutting).
- Comprehensive coverage: Captures 360° imagery to analyse both pavement and surrounding structures, delivering an ‘all-you-can-see’ dataset.
