Downer Transport & Infrastructure’s Specialised Pavements & Projects team, in collaboration with the Melbourne asphalt paving crew, successfully completed the resurfacing of EastLink toll road in Melbourne, Victoria.

Over the three-year program, the team laid more than 100,000 tonnes of new asphalt, using our advanced ‘super pavers’ and echelon paving, where pavers operate side by side simultaneously.

Completed on time and within budget across 172 overnight road closures, the project included the installation of 22,400 new lane reflectors and 398 km of line markings.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our nearly 100-strong night crew in delivering a smoother, safer, and quieter driving experience, and demonstrates our capability to deliver complex, high-volume asphalt works nationwide.
