In partnership with Powerlink, Downer is delivering the high-voltage transmission infrastructure that will connect the 285 MW Lotus Creek Wind Farm to Queensland's electricity network.

Downer’s scope of work includes the assembly and construction of 34 transmission structures, with Australian company Infravision’s drone technology utilised to assist with the conductor stringing phase.

Paul Robinson, General Manager Transmission Lines, said the project is also a testament to the dedication and expertise of the workforce delivering it.

The Lotus Creek Wind Farm, owned by CS Energy, will comprise 46 wind turbines capable of generating enough renewable electricity to power approximately 150,000 Queensland homes. Once complete, the transmission connection delivered by Downer and Powerlink will play a vital role in enabling this clean energy to reach homes and businesses across the state.
