Downer has been awarded a multi-year Master Service Agreement (MSA) renewal with One NZ.

The renewed MSA will see Downer continue its work maintaining One NZ’s nationwide network, as it has done for more than 20 years. The scope includes fixed network build, provisioning, operations and management (O&M) as well as wireless network build and O&M.

Downer Telco NZ General Manager, David Wallis, is thrilled to continue the partnership with One NZ.

“Over the past two decades building and maintaining the One NZ network, we’ve built great relationships, and strong institutional and technical knowledge, all embedded in talented team members across the regions,” Mr Wallis said.

“All of this puts us in a great position to keep delivering a high level of service to One NZ and their customers all around Aotearoa.”

On the renewal, One NZ Chief Technology Officer Kieran Byrne says: “Downer has been a trusted partner for many years, and we’re delighted to renew our agreement with them as we work hard together to keep improving outcomes for One NZ’s customers.”

“Partnering with Downer ensures we can control the costs of building and maintaining our extensive mobile and fixed networks. Their scale ensures engineers are available across the width and breadth of Aotearoa meaning more efficient build and faster response to incidents.”

Mr Wallis points to Downer’s emergency response efforts following major storm events to illustrate the commitment of his team.

“We’ve navigated through several extreme weather events and their impacts this year, from Cyclone Tam to the devastating impacts of heavy rain fall in the South Island in recent weeks. Our teams in the field have shown their enthusiasm to go above and beyond to keep their communities connected. This renewal is a direct result of their commitment to the job and One NZ.”

The multi-million dollar contract spans for at least the next five years.
