Downer is excited to announce that we have been awarded a contract with NBN Co (nbn), as part of its program to upgrade the remaining Fibre to the Node (FTTN) network, consolidating Downer’s position as a key long term delivery partner of nbn.

The contract commences in June 2025, with an initial term of three and a half years and an extension option of two years at nbn’s election.

Under the contract, Downer will provide design and construction services across metropolitan and regional Western Australia to support nbn’s plans to extend full fibre infrastructure deeper into communities.

Chief Operating Officer of Downer Energy & Utilities, Luke Sullivan, said Downer is incredibly proud to be a long-term partner of nbn, having already supported the delivery of nbn full fibre to millions of Australians.

“We are a leader in the telecommunications sector in Australia and New Zealand, depended upon for our technical expertise and reliable field execution to support the evolution of our customers’ networks.

“Downer is pleased to assist with the ongoing optimisation of the nbn network,” said Luke.

This continuation of our partnership with nbn contributes to Downer’s significant footprint in WA, where we provide essential services to communities, end-to-end asset lifecycle and specialist services for the resources and industrial sector from metropolitan and regional hubs across the state.
