Synergy Facility Services is an established Townsville-based contractor providing multi-disciplined building maintenance and construction services, including mechanical services, electrical services, HVAC services and communications.
A majority Indigenous-owned company and Supply Nation Certified Member, Synergy counts a number of Veterans among its workforce.
As a valued Service Delivery Partner at RAAF Base Townsville, Synergy provides ongoing maintenance services and has also completed a major mechanical and HVAC project at Lavarack Barracks.

Why is working in Defence Industry important to your business?
We have a number of Veteran and Indigenous employees in our business, and the opportunity to align the values of our Veteran & Indigenous workforce with the values of Defence and Defence Industry is a win-win for our business. This significance of this has been life changing for our employees. Being in Defence industry also gives a business some future visibility and allows us to plan for continued business growth.
What is the most valuable support a Prime can provide to your business?
The support of a Prime has opened doors of opportunities for our business that we potentially would not have had being a SME. Our business workforce has trebled in the last 4 years due to the ongoing commitment of work from Downer Defence. This has given us the opportunity to take on more apprentices, helping us deliver on one of our core values. The highlight for our organization was being recognized as a finalist in the Defence Innovator of the Year 2022 awards.
What advice would you give another SME trying to start up or scale in the Defence Industry?
Our experience and values are what we identify as critical to enter a working relationship with the Defence Industry, and I strongly advise other SME’s to be clear and act on their values also. We are committed to on-going WH&S and on-going training of our employees to deliver a product that meets and often exceeds the expectations of our customers.
