Works Manager at RAAF Townsville, Mick says Downer ‘took a chance’ on him after a rough transition out of Defence and with few skills that he felt would transition to civilian life.  Mick speaks freely of his mental health challenges and the importance of a workplace that has supported him from day one.

Mick continues to give back to his veteran community and in 2023 was recognised as a Finalist in the Prime Minister’s Veteran’s Employment Awards.
