Downer has delivered some of the largest MBRs for water authorities across Australia. MBRs offer a number of advantages over traditional methods, including a smaller footprint for treatment efficiency, better solids removal, and the production of higher quality effluent.

Downer has expertise in the use of various biological nutrient removal processes for removal of contaminants from sewage and industrial wastewaters. These processes combine activated sludge and, where required, stages of filtration and disinfection to achieve high quality treated effluent.

Ultrafiltration, disinfection, and reverse osmosis to ensure treated water meets the required quality for reuse in various applications, including drinking, industrial, or irrigation use.
