Downer is proud to have successfully delivered a vital airfield rehabilitation project at Dunedin Airport, focused on improving the safety, efficiency, and durability of critical taxiway and apron infrastructure.
Delivered in just two months, including four weeks of intensive overnight paving works, this fast-tracked project addressed the unique challenges of working in high-strength pavement areas with limited access, such as runway thresholds and terminal aprons.
We utilised our EME2 asphalt mix, a high-modulus, high-performance solution that enabled excavation and reinstatement up to 200mm deep. This allowed for rapid delivery, minimised disruption and ensured a reliable return to service after each shift.
This project marks a significant step in future-proofing Dunedin’s airfield, showcasing the impact of innovation, technical expertise and strong collaboration.
