The Challenge
The stormwater asset had experienced deterioration affecting its structural integrity and capacity. Its location beneath active rail infrastructure and a busy roadway required a solution that avoided disruption to train services and minimised impact on local traffic and the surrounding community.
Solution Delivered
PipeTech utilised a UV Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) Berolina liner to rehabilitate the existing drain. The liner was selected for its strength, flexibility, and ability to conform to varying pipe materials and shapes.
Following an initial site assessment, the liner was prepared and installed using a winching system to ensure precise placement within the existing pipe. Once in position, UV light curing was applied to create a seamless, corrosion-resistant internal pipe with enhanced structural performance.
Traffic management and safety controls were implemented in coordination with local authorities, alongside ongoing monitoring to protect nearby infrastructure throughout the works.
Outcome
The project was completed on time and within budget, with no disruption to rail operations and minimal impact on the local community. The rehabilitation extended the service life of the asset and improved its performance, demonstrating PipeTech’s ability to deliver efficient, low-impact solutions in complex urban environments.
