The Waratah Train Fleet stands as the backbone of Sydney’s rail network, delivering unparalleled reliability and comfort to commuters. Comprising 119 state-of-the-art, double-decker trains, the Waratah series represents the largest fleet of passenger trains in Australia.
Maintained at a purpose-built facility in Sydney’s West, as well as heavy maintenance being undertaken in the Hunter, the Waratah fleet consistently achieves high performance standards, making it a cornerstone of Sydney’s public transport infrastructure.

High Capacity Metro Trains
Seventy High Capacity Metro Trains have now been delivered with the entire fleet now supporting the passengers of Melbourne on the Cranbourne-Pakenham and Sunbury lines.
