Berolina – CIPP (Cured in Place Pipe)

Downer PipeTech specialises in Berolina – CIPP (Cured in Place Pipe), a widely used and cost-effective rehabilitation method for extending the life of an asset.

Application

Berolina-CIPP is a jointless, seamless, pipe-within-a-pipe with the capability to rehabilitate assets and gravity (sewer) pipelines with minimal diameter reduction.

It involves a glass fibre reinforced structural liner that is cured-in place using Ultra Violet light and is one of several trenchless rehabilitation methods used to repair ageing pipelines.

Benefits

  • Tight fit liner
  • High resistance to fire and flame
  • Proven technology since 1985
  • 50-year design life
  • Suitable for diameters 150mm to 1600mm
  • Manufactured in Germany under a Certified Quality
    System
  • No reliance on host pipe for strength
  • Conforms to AS2566 – Flexible pipe design

Sliplining

Downer PipeTech offers both continuous sliplining and segmental sliplining.

Sliplining is primarily used for the renewal of water, sewer or stormwater pipes where the loss of capacity is not a major issue.

No pipe displacement occurs, so there is no risk to the adjacent services.

Application

Continuous sliplining involves a long continuous pipe, such as HDPE or fusible PVC, which can be combined into continuouspieces of any dimension.

Segmental slip lining utilises individual pipe lengths that are typically used in larger pipe or culvert applications.

It can be used on diameters ranging in size from 50mm up to 4000mm and utilises a range of materials such as HDPE, PVC and socket spigot FRP.

Benefits

  • Provides a fully structural rehabilitation solution
  • Ability to maximise hydraulic capacity
  • Extends the expected service life of the asset
  • Fast and non-invasive installation process
  • Cost effective
  • Extensive history and proven capability

TUNNELINE®

Downer PipeTech provides our proprietary TUNNELINE® structural reinforced-concrete lining system, the unique and versatile system for structural remediation on pipes, culverts and tunnels with a design life of more than 100 years.

This award-winning system is a simple, in-situ reinforced concrete lining technique designed for difficult-to-access sites and has a very low environmental impact.

Application

The Tunneline pipe system is a ‘cast in place’ lining technology that is delivered under pressure into a modular rigid steel formwork, using self compacting concrete mixes.

When the shutters are removed, the internal finish is similar to that of pre cast factory units, and in most applications leads to more efficient and improved flow characteristics despite hydraulic loss.

Tunneline is designed under either AS3600 or AS5100 together with AS3725 standards to provide an independent structural element or can be used as a composite element inside brick and concrete structures.

Benefits

  • Significant time and cost savings
  • Does not require any advanced pre-works or stabilisation. Holes, cracks or missing masonry do not need to be repaired prior to installation
  • Can be constructed inside any existing man-access structure regardless of shape, or access.
  • Suitable for any host format ranging from 1200mm upward

Robotics and Point-lining

The use of pipeline robotics for the trenchless repair of defective pipelines and removal of pipe blockages has been a core part of PipeTech’s business for many years.

We have a fleet of pipeline robotic trucks operating throughout Australia and a team of skilled and competent operators who ensure high productivity and efficiency in clearing blocked sewers.

We have the capability to repair diameters ranging from 80mm up to 1000mm.

Our point-lining method is a time-tested and highly regarded localised pipeline repair product for gravity pipelines.

Application

Can be used for clearance of blocked sewers due to tree roots, debris and concrete. The hydraulically driven grinding robots provide impressive performance, allowing for cutting, grinding and milling of most materials, intrusions and encrustations.

Point-liners are suitable for the sealing of live connections, repair of cracks, fractures, fragmentation, leakage, broken and displaced joints, capping of disused junctions, corrosion and more.

Benefits

  • Experienced, skilled operators
  • Powerful grinding capacity and robust design
  • Able to grind and remove an array of materials and foreign matters (roots, intrusions, connections, even bike frames and hub caps)
  • Suitable across multiple pipeline assets
  • Works in partnership with our KA-TE PMO robotics fleet as a solution to tree root intrusions and blockages
  • All material components packaged to minimise

CCTV Inspection and Reporting

Closed-circuit Television (CCTV) inspection and reporting services for the assessment of pipelines has been a core part of PipeTech’s service offering since day one.

Our advanced CCTV technology capabilities provide an accurate assessment of pipe assets, allowing us to determine the condition and serviceability of an asset.

Application

PipeTech have a fleet of tractor driven CCTV cameras to suit every job, including push rod cameras for smaller applications, which allow for the inspection of pipelines ranging in diameter from 50mm up to 1200mm.

We also provide a man-entry inspection service for larger pipeline applications.

Benefits

  • Highly experienced, accredited CCTV operators
  • Silent, emission-free plants that run on inverter generators
  • Pinpoint accuracy for locating and recording of pipeline damage
  • Advanced CCTV cameras to suit every job
  • Latest reporting software enables our customers to review reports, videos and photos via a viewer module – with our experienced teams providing an effective solution to any issues identified
